We are fully committed to creating a sustainable society, which cannot be achieved without changing our consumption habits.

Back in Edo period, when Somenoya was founded(1862), our society was at peace with the nature and all living creatures were respected, as we all have a part to play in order to keep the harmony.

With all the changes that the new millennium has brought, the quality of living for the future generations is no longer certain.

We are the generation that must take action, therefore we have developed a new type of plant-based meals.

Our diet largely depends on animal protein, which demands enormous resources and also substantially contributes to global warming, while generating much less nutrition comparing to plant protein.

Thanks to recently published, in Nature, study we can see closer how these numbers translate to a single person per day.

Prof Scarborough, of Oxford University, conducted the study on 55,000 people who were further divided into groups, depending on the type of diet.

High Meat group included those who consume more than 100g of meat a day.
